Services
Meeting the Integrated Information Needs of K-12 School System Administrators and Policy Makers

Background: The Importance of SEMS' Services
K-12 education is transforming into a service and performance-driven field (see No Child Left Behind Act below). This transformation presents challenges because, in many cases, vision, resources, staff, policies, and laws are not aligned within school systems.

Our services help facilitate transformation efforts by developing performance measures that identify progress, needs and challenges across the entire system at the state, district and school levels. Stakeholders in the educational enterprise are able to quickly and effectively target areas for improvement. This precision helps stakeholders align resources, strengthen policies, build capabilities, and coordinate initiatives.

Services Overview
At SEMS, our services take a systemic approach to strengthening school systems and administrators' capacity to meet the diverse needs of students and communities.

  • Evaluation Services
SEMS offers evaluations of school system progress to provide the public with a rigorous, comprehensive and objective view of your department's efforts to achieve stated goals. Our evaluations are useful because they can validate efforts, identify areas for improvement, support plans to reallocate resources and help stakeholders determine where to contribute.

We perform evaluations of systems, departments and initiatives at the state, district and school level once there is a performance measurement system in place. These evaluations are not meant to be punitive, but rather they are intended to help systems and stakeholders stay focused on progress towards stated goals.

Performance Measurement Services - Our performance measurement team will work with you to develop performance indicators that are fair and helpful in your day-to-day efforts. Our comprehensive and systemic approach will enhance administrators' ability to effectively communicate their progress, needs and challenges to key constituents. This is the first step in our comprehensive evaluation process.

  • Knowledge Management Services
Our Knowledge Management team provides informational tools that are easily incorporated into the daily workflow of school administrators, enabling administrators to quickly act on changes in performance indicators and enhance long-term strategic planning efforts.

SEMS' services deliver critical information, analysis, and solutions that help school administrators take effective action in each of the functional areas within the educational enterprise including:

    • Curriculum and Instruction
    • Human Resources
    • Information Technology
    • Finance
    • Operations - Facilities Maintenance, Transportation and Food Services

Taken together or separately our services are designed to help your institution meet the increasing demands of showing performance improvement throughout the organization. It is our objective to help you meet this goal and restore confidence in the quality of public education.
